center of the universe

I am not surprised that ancient astronomers

were so violently opposed when they revealed

a seismic shift from what was commonly supposed:

we are not the center of the universe, the cosmos

doesn’t respond to Earth, we are still beautiful, vibrant,

unique, but that title is not ours to keep, for them it was all

but blasphemy to accept our minute place in the galaxy, but

now it’s a well known reality of orbit paths and gravity,

and yet, there are still some who think the world

revolves around them, and not the sun.
